Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I know if I have enough coverage?

A: Our agents are trained in all aspects of the insurance business. They will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have regarding your coverage.

Q: How many members are needed for group rates?

A: 5 members are typically needed to receive group rates, but businesses as small as 2 members may qualify.

Q: Are there discounts if I carry more than one type of insurance with your companies?

A: Absolutely, many of our companies offer substantial multi-policy discounts.

Q: Do I need to buy insurance for a rental car or does my policy cover me?

A: This answer depends on many variables. You do have substitute vehicle coverage, which means your regular car can not also be in use while renting a replacement. Also if you insure a car and rent a truck or vice-versa, coverage may not apply. One thing that is never covered is "loss of service" charges that the car rental company can charge you for the revenues they lose while their damaged car is being repaired. You need the rental company's collision damage waiver protection to get "loss of service" insurance. Our best recommendation is to call us with your rental plan details, before you go without.

Q: What type of insurance do I need if I work at home?

A: This depends on what type of business you are involved in.

Q: What is certain is that all homeowner policies limit or exclude business liability and business personal property coverage?

A: In-home business policies are offered by many of our companies and very reasonably priced. Call or e-mail us for a quote on your particular business endeavor.

Q: Do I need workers comp? (commercial)

A: According to State of Illinois Statute, an Employer is held STRICTLY LIABLE for the safety/welfare of their employees. General Liability insurance EXCLUDES Employer's Liability. Thus Workers Compensation is needed to provide an employer with this important liability coverage. Workers Compensation also pays for the injured employee's medical bills and lost wages.
